Take a typing test to determine your WPM. Aim for at least 60 WPM.

Download a free 1-minute video clip and manually transcribe it into a
text file.
Day 3
Download Aegisub and watch a beginner tutorial on how to create an
.SRT file.
Day 4
Practice syncing your Day 2 transcription to the video in Aegisub.
Focus on timing.
Day 5
Sign up for a Rev.com account and take their captioning skills test.
Day 6
Research "Burning in" captions—how to make captions a permanent part
of the video file using Handbrake.
Day 7
Create a simple portfolio showcasing your 1-minute captioned video
from Day 4.
